If anyone thinks owning an RV is simpler than owning a house, not true! An RV is just smaller than a house but things still break and need repairs. The fan capacitor we picked up Friday, turned out not to be the problem. It was the motor. Funny thing, when we were at the shop on Friday, there on a shelf as we walked in, was the exact motor that fits our AC. We asked the service tech about it and he said somebody ordered it and never picked it up. He said he would discount it if we needed it. Doug wrote the part number down. When the capacitor didn’t do the trick, he called the shop and said we would be right there on Saturday morning for the motor. I think it was a sign! Ahhh….halleluiah…halo…bright light…, etc.!!!! No ordering, no waiting, a good price, & it had our name on it! Who cares if it was another 35 miles back down the road! So here is Doug: Step one, take things apart. Step 2, put the new parts together. Step 3, climb back up on the roof AGAIN for the umpteenth time! Install, and done! Everything is working great! Hope this motor will give us 6 years, like the first one. Thank goodness the last several days have been very warm, but with really nice breezes and we have a bit of shade on our site.
At least going towards Fresno again , gave us a chance to go to Wal-Mart in Clovis to stock up on groceries. It has been “sticker shock” at the grocery stores up in Oakhurst! Guess we have been spoiled with Wal-Marts and commissaries. On the way back
On the way back to the park, we stopped at a local produce market close to the RV shop. We bought some CA Bing cherries. Oh boy, are they good! So juicy and sweet! That 2 lbs. sure isn’t lasting long! The price was really good because they are very expensive in the local markets. But, hey, we have to go to Wal-Mart next week for a prescription, so guess where we are stopping again!?
You are so right - there is always something going wrong with an RV. A couple of days ago it was the furnace. A new thermostat fixed that. Now it's a leaky toilet. But the air works and that's a good thing. Those cherries sound wonderful. Have a handful for me. I'm hoping we get some good Flathead Cherries when we get to Montana.
