An Early Christmas Show in Texas

Even though we have have been so shut in because of the cold, fun can still be had.  Last night we braved the elements and attended a Christmas dinner and show at the Harlequin Dinner Theater here on the Ft. Sam Houston Base.  We have never encountered something like this on any of the other military bases where we camped.  What a treat!  The dinner included a salad bar, full turkey or ham dinner, plus desert.  All of it was good.  We shared a table with another really nice couple and became friends.  That is one aspect of our travels that is so much fun, we get to meet such nice people.  Everyone is different and everyone has their own story.  We were asked not to take pictures so we only have a picture of our new friends.

The performers sang 50 songs with a little bit of each type and especially Christmas music.  They were excellent with great voices and fast moving dancing.  All the performers have an impressive background in music and one young lady was even on American Idol.   The group also puts on other types of musicals and plays.  Such wonderful talent and we thoroughly enjoyed it and are so glad we went.

It is still cold but did get up to the low 50s today.  Plus, the campground office served Dunkin Doughnuts this morning.  Of course, we went!!!  Nothing like a sugar high and chocolate to start the day!  So it is a big salad for dinner tonight!

  1. With the sun shining today I was actually able to take my coat off for a couple of hours this afternoon. But we have a freeze warning for tomorrow night. I am really tired of this. Whine, whine.
