One more item off of our checklist. First thing we did this morning was get weighed. No, not us, the RV and truck! That didn’t take long so we got an early start for the day. So glad to be on the road again!!
.
It was nice and warm and sunny at 81 degrees. Wow! We went from low 40s one day to 80s the next! But I’ll take the warm days! There are no major interstates from Livingston, to Austin, so we drove through the countryside and small towns. As we headed west we could see the landscape start to change. We saw lower growth trees then lots of grazing land and ranches. Even saw a pasture of the good ole Texas Longhorn. We also noticed that we were starting to see cactus, the spreading bush type, that is very typical for central, west, and south Texas. Plus the flags flying on a pretty day are always heart warming.
We are staying at the Oak Forest RV Park on the east side of Austin. It is a Passport America park, meaning that the fees are half price for the 4 days we are here. It is nice and clean. The paved site is very welcome after camping in the dirt and gravel at the park in Livingston. It was just so muddy after a hard rain. Thank goodness the leaves are off the trees here at this RV park in Austin because, due to the wind and being Fall, we had to sweep the slides off before leaving this morning. It is supposed to be warm the next 2 days so we have our list of things to do! Hard to believe it is December already! There is even a bit of mistletoe over the RV so that is always good for a little kiss or two! Right?
